About

Foam insulation,
without the guesswork.

Foam Insulations exists to answer one question well: which foam belongs where, and who can put it there?

What we do

Spray foam is one of the most effective insulations ever made, and one of the most misunderstood. Open-cell or closed-cell? Vented or unvented? How thick, and does it need to be covered? The answers change with the building, the climate and the code, and most of what is online is either a sales pitch or a scare story.

We publish plain, practical guides organized around applications — attics, walls, crawl spaces, basements, metal buildings, barns, roofs and concrete — because that is how people actually think about their buildings. Every figure we use is a typical value with its source in mind, and we say so when the right answer is "check the data sheet and your local code."

Who is behind it

Foam Insulations is built with ArmorThane USA, Inc., a manufacturer of spray foam, polyurea and protective coatings in Springfield, Missouri, since 1989. ArmorThane makes ArmorFoam open- and closed-cell insulation, builds mobile spray rigs, and trains independent applicators around the world.

That is also where your request goes when you fill out a form on this site: to the ArmorThane team, who can recommend a foam, connect you with an applicator, or help you start spraying yourself.
